Solo Cup Burger🍔
Solo Cup Slider Burgers
These simple charcoal-grilled slider burgers are juicy, flavorful, and incredibly easy to make. The Solo Cup Burger Method creates perfectly sized patties that fit slider buns without hanging over the edges.
Ingredients
- 1 pound 80/20 ground beef
- Traeger Blackened Saskatchewan Rub
- 4 Martin's Slider Potato Buns
Equipment
- Charcoal grill such as a Weber Go-Anywhere Grill or Weber Kettle or Kamado Joe
- Solo cup
- Instant-read thermometer
Instructions
1. Make the Burger Mold
Using scissors, cut a 1-inch-tall ring from the top of a Solo cup. This will serve as your burger mold and help create evenly sized slider patties.
2. Preheat the Grill
Prepare your charcoal grill for direct cooking and preheat to approximately 400°F.
3. Form the Patties
Divide the ground beef into 4 equal portions. Press each portion into the Solo cup ring to create uniform slider patties.
4. Season
Generously season both sides of each patty with Traeger Blackened Saskatchewan Rub.
5. Toast the Buns
Place the slider buns cut-side down on the grill for 30–60 seconds, just until lightly toasted. Remove and set aside.
6. Grill the Burgers
Place the patties on the grill and cook for about 5 minutes. Flip and continue cooking for another 4–5 minutes, or until they reach your desired level of doneness. For medium burgers, aim for an internal temperature of 145°F.
7. Assemble and Serve
Place the burgers on the toasted buns and add your favorite toppings. Bacon and blue cheese dressing are a favorite combination in our house.
Serve immediately and enjoy!
Tips & Notes
Martin's Slider Potato Buns are my go-to choice for this recipe. They're soft, slightly sweet, and provide a much better burger-to-bun ratio than many standard hamburger buns. With some larger buns, the bread can overwhelm the burger, but these slider buns let the beef remain the star of the show.

I had the pleasure of having the chef cook these burgers for us. My wife told me on the way home that I should ask him how to make them because they are the best burgers she has ever had, and I wholeheartedly agree. Highly recommended!
