Grilling Burgers for Large Crowd with Tiny Grill(Weber Go-anywhere grill)

Don't let a small grill stop you from feeding a crowd. With a little planning, a Weber Go-Anywhere can crank out enough burgers for a backyard party, family gathering, or kids' birthday party.

Ingredients

  • 7 pounds 80/20 ground chuck
  • 30 slider or small hamburger buns
  • Traeger Blackened Saskatchewan Rub (or your favorite burger seasoning)
  • Cheese slices (optional)
  • Ketchup, mustard, BBQ sauce, pickles, onions, and other favorite toppings

Equipment

Directions

1. Form the Burgers

Shape the ground chuck into 30 equal-sized slider burgers. The Solo Cup Burger Method works great for making uniform patties that cook evenly.

Season both sides generously with Traeger Blackened Saskatchewan Rub.

2. Fire Up the Grill

Fill the chimney starter with Kingsford briquettes and light it.

After about 15 minutes, when the coals are mostly covered in gray ash, pour them into the grill and spread them evenly. Open the top and bottom vents about halfway.

3. Start Grilling

Place 6 burgers on the grill and cook for about 4–5 minutes per side.

Cook until the burgers reach your desired doneness.

Transfer finished burgers to an aluminum pan and cover immediately with a lid or foil to keep them warm and juicy.

4. Repeat Until Everyone Is Fed

Continue grilling in batches until all 30 burgers are cooked.

If the grill temperature starts dropping, add a few fresh briquettes between batches to maintain consistent heat.

5. Add Cheese (Optional)

If serving a crowd with different topping preferences, it's often easier to add cheese later. Place the cooked burgers in a 350°F oven for a few minutes with cheese on top until melted.

6. Serve and Enjoy

Set out the buns, toppings, and condiments buffet-style and let everyone build their own burger.

Then sit back and enjoy the party—you just cooked 30 burgers on one of the smallest charcoal grills around.

Tips for Success

  • Use 80/20 ground chuck for juicy burgers that stay moist while being held warm.
  • Keep cooked burgers covered to prevent them from drying out.
  • Have a second chimney of charcoal ready if you're cooking for a large crowd.
  • Toast the buns while the final batch of burgers cooks.
  • If needed, warm the finished burgers in a 350°F oven for just a few minutes before serving. Be careful not to overcook them.
